Rendon's Throw Knocks Storen Down Again, Nats Season Slipping Away
DC Sports Nexus ---- Thursday, August 13, 2015
On Wednesday night the Nationals former closer (and semi-current 8th inning "setup man...now seemingly demoted again to 8th inning matchup guy) Drew Storen gave up another 2 runs thanks to a horrible throwing error by Anthony Rendon. The season is starting to slip away from Matt Williams and the Nationals, now 3 1/2 games out of first place behind the Mets.
Jimmy Rollins Respects Michael A Taylor's Arm On Throw From Center
DC Sports Nexus ---- Wednesday, August 12, 2015
With Denard Span out of the lineup, Michael A. Taylor has earned his way into the everyday center field position. On Tuesday night in a loss against the Dodgers Taylor had the chance to show off his arm to the LA crowd. With a runner on 2nd Taylor scooted under a deep fly ball and fired a strike to third base to hold an impressed Jimmy Rollins at 2nd base. After the throw Taylor and Rollins shared a moment as the veteran gave the youngster some props for his toss. Here's how it looked in GIF form.
Gio Swings, Gio Misses, Gio Falls, Gio Wins
DC Sports Nexus ---- Tuesday, August 11, 2015
During Gio Gonzalez's latest pitching victory against the Dodgers he had a very comical plate appearance. The pitcher took a huge cut at a Zack Greinke pitch and his body twisted as he fell down to one knee. Here's Gio falling and his reaction to the situation:
Bryce Harper Tries To Break Bat On Knee, Fails
DC Sports Nexus ---- Monday, August 10, 2015
Bryce Harper and his knees are having a lot of trouble lately. Bryce just missed an important game against the Dodgers after hurting his often hurt left knee on a diving catch in the previous game. The day before he had some trouble with the other knee after popping out in the bottom of the 9th inning with 2 runners on base and a chance to win the game. He was so frustrated with the out he decided to try to break his bat over his knee. He slammed the bat into his leg but it didn't break. Bryce grimaced in pain and tossed the bat with frustration. It looked like it hurt really bad. Here's what it looked like:

Bryce Harper Wears Derek Jeter Wrist Band
DC Sports Nexus ----

Bryce Harper, who even when he was playing in the league for the Nationals was still a Yankees fan at heart, was wearing a giant Derek Jeter wrist sweatband during Tuesday night's game vs the New York Mets. Is it cool he is repping a class act major leaguer or annoying because it is the Yankees? You make the call!
Nationals Fans Welcome Division Champs Back From Road Trip
DC Sports Nexus ---- Sunday, September 21, 2014
Unfortunately for Nationals fans, this season the Nats clinched their division championship on the road. While the team celebrated in Atlanta, fans celebrated all across the DMV, but it just wasn't the same. Fans wanted to show the team in person how they felt. So that is probably why there were dozens of fans waiting outside of Nats Park for the team to arrive home from their road trip on Sunday night (after sweeping the Marlins).
So here's what happens when Nats fans show the team how much they care...
Nationals Use Orioles Logo In Bizarre Postseason Shirt
DC Sports Nexus ---- Wednesday, September 17, 2014
After the Washington Nationals clinched the NL East Division Title last night, MLB released a whole line of championship gear for fans to purchase. One of these designs on a sweatshirt was a little bit odd because as you can see from the picture, it basically uses a giant cursive O that looks eerily reminiscent of the Baltimore Orioles logo (with a tiny Nats curly W logo in the bottom right). WTF? Get yours today for just $70. Here is what the Orioles shirt looks like:
Fister? I Hardly Even Know Her Sign Makes TV Broadcast
DC Sports Nexus ---- Monday, September 8, 2014
This cleverly disgusting sign was featured for a few seconds on screen during an emotional standing ovation for Nats starter Doug Fister after Matt Williams went out to the mound but then ended up letting Fister stay in to get the 3rd out and end the inning. The TV cameras picked up lots of great reactions, they also got the sign that says "Fis Her? I Hardly Even Know Her". It was very subtle on TV, but hey, we all have a pause button these days. Here's the full image shown on TV.
Gio Gonzalez Puts A Redskins Hat On His Dog And Takes A Pic
DC Sports Nexus ----

Sometimes the different DC Sports teams all come together to provide worthy (or non-worthy) fun and excitement. Instead of just posting it a zillion times, this segment will just link you over to the main story.
Here is a picture of Gio Gonzalez's dog wearing a Redskins hat. Gio even used the hashtag HTTR.
Head over to our Skins site to see the full photo and read the story.
Bad News Barrett Is Pumped Up
DC Sports Nexus ---- Sunday, September 7, 2014
After Alfonso Soriano melted down for the 18 millionth time, Matt Williams finally decided to shake up the bullpen. And it only took 1 day for Nats fans to see how that might look. One of the keys to the bullpen going forward is Aaron "Bad News" Barrett who helped out Gio Gonzalez on Sunday afternoon by coming in with a runner on in the 7th inning and then clearing the bases with a double play ball. Barrett was pumped up to say the least. Here is the pitcher showing his Natitude.
Dodgers Sunbather Greatest Thing Ever
DC Sports Nexus ---- Thursday, September 4, 2014
If you were watching yesterday's marathon Nats vs Dodgers game (and hanging out on Twitter) you probably saw the sunbathing Dodgers fan chilling shirtless in the bleachers down the first base line. The guy was so visible that it looked like Nats Pitcher Jordan Zimmermann even took a quick peek from the mound before an inning.
Later in the game, after the original sighting, a Dodgers fan at the game posted the ultimate photo of the guy. This may be the greatest baseball fan photo of all time. Check it out.
Yesterday's Dodgers vs Nats Game, GIF'd
DC Sports Nexus ---- Wednesday, September 3, 2014
It would take 39 blog posts to describe what happened during last night's Nats 14 inning victory over the Dodgers. So we'll just let these GIFs do the explaining...
The Top 5 Nats Vine Videos Of The Weekend
DC Sports Nexus ---- Tuesday, September 2, 2014
The week didn't start out too great getting swept by the Phillies, but a series win against the Mariners, an opening win against the Dodgers, and a heck of a lot of homeruns led to some more great Washington Nationals Vine Videos. Here are your top 5 from last week.
Nats Dugout Exhibits Teamwork On Alley-Oop Homerun Celebration
DC Sports Nexus ----

It seems like every single night during this crazy homerun barrage the Nationals are putting on there is a variation of their 2014 homerun basketball helmet shot celebration. At one point Jayson Werth was shooting 3 pointers, Gio Gonzalez was almost decapitated, and on Monday night half the dugout got involved with a 5 man alley-oop helmet dunk after a Jayson Werth homerun. Check out the GIF of this somewhat excessively complicated but hella-fun routine.
Newseum Publishes Braves? Fans Botched I Hate The Nats News Story
DC Sports Nexus ---- Wednesday, August 27, 2014
The Newseum has a "thing" where you can stand in front of a green screen with a microphone and live out your dream of being on the network news. One of the options you get to pick is sports, and since the museum is in DC, you get a scripted Washington Nationals story. Well, after watching several of the videos, it appears this attraction may be unattended because several of the videos published to the Newseum - Be A Reporter YouTube page are people not knowing how to do it.
Well a couple guys decided that their news story would be that they hate the Washington Nationals (Braves fans?), and of course because they have no #Natitude, they couldn't figure out how to work the machine. Here is the video of them trying to be funny and failing. GO NATS!
Wilbon & Kornheiser Yell About Nats vs Dodgers On PTI
DC Sports Nexus ---- Tuesday, August 26, 2014
PTI is talking Washington Nationals baseball again. During the shows mini-game called Toss Up, where both hosts Tony Kornheiser and Michael Wilbon pick between two choices, the following toss up question was asked.
"Who is the National League favorite, the Nationals or the Dodgers?"
Here's what Tony & Wilbon had to say:
FP Santangelo Calls Anthony Rendon Homerun
DC Sports Nexus ---- Monday, August 25, 2014
Ok. So to be honest, we aren't recording every single time a baseball announcer calls a homerun that doesn't happen. But when it does, we try to forget those and focus on the amazingness that is calling a homerun. Well one of those times happened again. Check out what Washington Nationals announcer FP Santangelo had to say just seconds before an Anthony Rendon homerun. Psychic?
Return Of The Rally Pigeon Boosts Nats To Comeback Victory
DC Sports Nexus ---- Sunday, August 24, 2014
Well, maybe the players had something to do with it....
I don't know what it is with pigeons and baseball but those guys seem to love the game. They also appear to have no fear at all of being run over by a sprinting outfielder or getting hit with a hard line drive up the middle. On Sunday afternoon with the Nationals trailing 6-2 to the San Francisco Giants, a pigeon made its way onto the outfield grass behind 2nd base. What happened next was one of the most amazing innings of baseball of 2014, and another huge Nationals comeback.
Washington Nationals: A Different Hero Every Day
DC Sports Nexus ---- Thursday, August 21, 2014
The Washington Nationals have done something pretty darn amazing. The Nattys have won 10 games in a row, which included 5 walk off wins in just 6 games, a feat that has only been done a few times in the history of Major League Baseball. The cool part is that this is a total team effort, and every walk-off had a different Nationals hero. Here is an epic GIF showing all those heroes.
