PTI is talking Washington Nationals baseball again. During the shows mini-game called Toss Up, where both hosts Tony Kornheiser and Michael Wilbon pick between two choices, the following toss up question was asked.
"Who is the National League favorite, the Nationals or the Dodgers?"
Here's what Tony & Wilbon had to say:
Tony (TK): "Alright I concede that it's tough to beat Kershaw"
Mike Wilbon: "HOMER!!!! HOMER ALERT!!!!!"
TK: "I concede that Kershaw and Greinke at the top of the rotation are going to be very tough to beat. I would counter with the fact that the Nationals their 5 deep rotation as starters is the best in the National League.
Wilbon: "How many pitchers in the playoffs are usually in the rotation?"
TK: "3 or 4"
Wilbon: "And how many times do you slurp the team that has the 2 superior starters, like every year that I've known you?"
TK: "Did I stammer on that or did I say that Kershaw and Greinke are tough to beat?"
Wilbon: "Let me make sure our dear viewers know"
TK: "But the nationals score more runs and allow fewer runs than the Dodgers, thats an important statistic. And by the way the Dodgers had Kershaw last year. In the playoffs he was 1-2 with a 3.13 ERA"
Wilbon: "The Nationals are on fire, but the Dodgers will be the favorite. Who's got Kershaw. DING DING DING! That's the winner"
TK: "Is he gonna pitch ALL SEVEN!?"
Wilbon: "Kershaw, Greinke, Ryu...he doesn't have to, these other guys are out there.
TK: "The Nationals are deeper at their top 5!"
Wilbon: "KERSHAW! KERSHAW! That's all that matters."
