A Game Of Agony
DC Sports Nexus ---- Thursday, September 4, 2014
Here are some of the reactions from the Washington Nationals at different moments during their 14 inning victory over the Dodgers on Wednesday. So much agony in one game. Thankfully, all these moments disappeared with a Nats win (victory reactions here).
First, with a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the 9th inning with 2 outs, Jayson Werth dropped an easy (minus the sun) fly ball and the Dodgers tied the game. The Nats bench all went up to the railing when the ball was hit, ready to hop the fence and celebrate...then BAM! Shock...the celebration was cancelled.
Then, with a 2 run lead in the 12th inning, Tyler Clippard came on to close out the game. He...did not...giving up a game tying homerun. He was not too pleased, dropping to the ground. Meanwhile Span couldn't believe it...
Again, we only show these because the Nats WON THE GAME!!!! But you can see how much these guys care.
