Phillies 3, Nationals 2

Edwin Jackson had a tough day facing Jimmy Rollins as the Phillies defeated the Nationals on Wednesday night at Nats Park.  Rollins hit 2 homers off Jackson, who lost his stuff early in the outing helping the Phillies take the 3-2 win.  The Braves also lost so the lead remains 2.5 games.

Wait...Is that the 6 foot 6 donkey that Davey Johnson was talking about?  Is that... WERTH!!!

H/T To @_JakeRussell On Twitter For Grabbing The Image

Jackson went 5 2/3 innings after two consecutive 7 inning starts giving up 3 runs, 4 walks, 6 K's, and 3 homers.

The Nationals offense could only muster 2 runs, both because of Phillies errors.  The Phils pitching staff gave up 6 hits and 0 earned runs.  That is now two games so far and 0 earned runs by Philly pitchers.

Bryce Harper broke out of his slump (for a game) going 2-4 and was the only National to get multiple hits.

The Nats also had a few baserunning questions.  At one point with 2 outs, Edwin Jackson was waved home and pegged out by a mile, and in the 8th inning the Nats went with a 2 out Ryan Zimmerman steal which he was caught by a mile.  Meanwile teams steal bases at will on the Nats as Jesus Flores is hovering around 10% caught stealing percentage.

Here is something very stupid.  It's Charlie Manuel, the manager of the Philadelphia Phillies talking to Ryan Howard, like a chicken, or a penguin, or something:

The Nationals look to salvage a game on Thursday against the Phils...
