Nationals 5, Marlins 1
After 4 long days without Washington Nationals baseball, the Wild Ones returned to action with a 5-1 win over the Miami Marlins on Friday night in Miami. Flo-Rida was performing after the game for Marlins fans but the Nats were the ones ridin' dirty, with baseball bats in their glove box.
The Nationals are playing a fun style of baseball. From Bryce Harper getting to second on a simple single. To Harper sneaking over to 3rd base while 2 infielders chatted. To Ian Desmond almost running right past LaRoche on a bloop single to score the extra run. The Washington Nationals are having fun.
On the offensive end Ryan Zimmerman (3 hits) had a good feelin' and jacked a ball in the ayer, ayer for a 2 run homerun, Adam LaRoche had 3 hits, and Bryce Harper extended his hit streak to 8 games as the Nats offense gave Jordan Zimmermann some rare offensive support.
Jordan pitched 6 innings and gave up 0 runs on 4 hits while striking out 6. Henry Rodriguez came in with the 5 run lead, walked 2 batters, gave up an RBI single, and was replaced by Michael Gonzalez who escaped the jam in 1 pitch. If H-Rod is not off the team or in the minors tomorrow then Davey Johnson better have a good explanation.
Nats hit up Miami again tomorrow night...
