Nationals 8, Braves 4
Apparently the answer to an offensive slump is to play the Braves. At least that's true if your the Nationals. Coming off of a 7 run performance yesterday, the Nats crossed home plate 8 times on their way to a second win in the series. Almost everyone of the team got a hit tonight, with the highlights being Espinosa and Harper each knocking out homeruns. Chad Tracy got a huge run scoring double in the 6th to give the Nats a lead for good. Unfortunately, he pulled up injured as he made his way to second and had to leave the game. The team hasn't said exactly what happened, but if Tracy is forced to go on the DL it will be another huge injury-loss to a team already riddled with them.
Strasburg got his 5th win of the season, but he had struggled to do so. He gave up 6 hits, walked 4, and gave up 4 runs through his 5 innings of work before his pitch count got high enough that Davey pulled him. T-clip recorded his 3rd save of the year and seems to have locked down the closer position vacated by H-rod, at least for the time being.
The Nat's will be on Sunday Night Baseball tomorrow night as they go for the series sweep behind Gio Gonzalez, who has been our best pitcher this season. Going out and taking a strangle-hold on first place in front of a national audience would be a huge statement from this team to the rest of the league.
