Nationals 3, Marlins 5

The Nationals fell to the Marlins after an extremely short turn around after last nights win over the Braves.  The Nats looked alive at the plate tonight, at least for the first 5 innings.  Lombardozzi continued to raise his batting average with a 3 hit performance, Ryan Zimmerman had a big 2 RBI double in the 5th, and J-Zimm became the second pitcher on the Nationals staff to hit a homerun this season.  Espinosa got nothing going tonight and saw his average creep closer to .200 and Maldonado reminded us all why we need Jesus Flores to get healthy.

Jordan Zimmermann had a good night on the mound until he ran into trouble in the 6th inning.  After cruising with minimal effort, Zimm let Stanton get a hold of a pitch for a monster homerun, his 12th of the season.  The Nat's bats fell silent as the game went on, and several defensive lapses by Ankiel allowed Reyes to tack on an insurance run in the 7th.  Zambrano wasn't great, but he battled through 6 innings and got the win.  Heath Bell came in for the save.

Some more great announcing tonight from FP saying they should let firstbasemen knock runners off of first base to tag them out to Bob seeing a Marlin and calling it a dolphin.  But the FP Quote of the night:  "But one of the most frequently asked questions we get as well is 'I like your shortstop' "  I often ask that same question.

Hopefully the Nats get a good nights rest tonight, because they are back at it tomorrow and the Marlins are nipping at their heals for 1st place in the NL East.

Question:  What do you all think of the Marlin's new park?  It was my first time really seeing the place and in many ways it reminded me more of a carnival and less of a ball park.  That said, it still looked like it'd be a cool place to see a game, even though the place wasn't very filled.
