Series Preview: Nationals @ Mets

DC Sports Nexus ---- Monday, April 9, 2012

The National's continue their beginning of the season road trip with a 3 game stop off in New York to play the Mets.

The Nationals play:
  • Monday (7:10pm) Jackson vs Pelfrey
  • Tuesday (7:10pm) Detwiler vs Gee
  • Wednesday (1:10pm) Strasburg vs Santana

From what I gather the Mets are normally pretty awful, but this season they have started 3-0.  That is alright because the Nats...er...Ian Desmond and the pitchers are looking good!  I am especially looking forward to Wednesday afternoon when Strasburg will make his second start of the season against Santana, a great pitcher in his own right.  That might be a match up worth calling in sick to see.

Lets hope everyone not named Ian Desmod wakes up to help to Nats score some runs against their NL East rivals.  It would be nice if the team was scoring runs when they come home on Thursday for an 11 game home stand.

*Injury Update* Michael Morse is able to come off the DL on Tuesday and participated in a rehab game on Thursday.  Not sure he will be ready to join the team while they are in New York, but it looks possible that he could rejoin the lineup once the team returns to DC.  Fingers Crossed.
