Bryce Harper Sticks It To Matt Williams With A Slow Jog

DC Sports Nexus ---- Tuesday, April 22, 2014

Last Saturday, Bryce Harper was benched by new manager Matt Williams for not hustling out a slow and easy grounder to the pitcher. Harper jogged and then didn't run all the way to first base. Bryce said it was his bad and life went on.

Well tonight, Bryce was no longer batting #2 in the order. Matt Williams moved him to the #6 slot. (Bryce, the "face of the franchise" has batted in 5 different positions in the order in the first 21 games of the season)

After another easy groundout Bryce Harper ran even slower than he did when he was benched. But at least this time he ran through the bag...at an exaggerated slow pace in just under 10 seconds.  (For those who don't know, this is exaggeration..several nerds have actually taken out a stopwatch and clocked him under 6 seconds...not the point) Check it out:

Below is the play he was benched for, and his reaction. It is almost the same exact play except this time he sticks it out all the way to first instead of veering to the dugout.

Your move Matt Williams!
