Today is Jayson Werth's birthday and since they are from DC, the guys on PTI threw him in as the birthday of the day. They took the time to wish Werth a happy birthday and then crush him for his contract/production. Here's what they had to say:
Tony: "Happy 34th birthday Jayson Werth, he's hurt again. In 3 seasons for the Washington Nationals he has 29 homers, by the end of this season he will have $39 million dollars, do the math, but his 9th inning walk-off homerun in the playoffs last year is the most important hit EVER by the Nats"
Wilbon: "Tone, It's a good thing they don't owe him 4 years and $83 Million more Dollars...oh..oh wait, they do...maybe he'll turn it around, come on, be optimistic, that's your team"
Werth will be returning to the lineup this weekend for the Nats on Friday against the Phillies when the Nats come home this weekend.
