Edwin Jackson had a rough night, but the Nationals offense picked him up with a huge 5 inning rally to help him earn his 7th win of the season (7-7). The Nationals remain 4.5 games up on the Braves and have now won 8 in a row.
Jackson pitched just 5 2/3 innings giving up 5 runs on 8 hits. The Nats bullpen wasn't exactly perfect, but they didn't allow the D-Backs to score and secured the win for the Nats. Clippard picked up his 24th save.
Ryan Zimmerman had 2 hits and 2 RBIs, but outside of the 5th inning the Nats didn't really do much. Bryce Harper had the night off but came in as a pinch hitter but struckout. Harper is now the worst hitter in baseball since the All-Star break and may need to be moved down in the lineup or something to break his slump.
One more against the D-Backs Sunday afternoon...
