Nationals Park
7:05pm on MASN HD
preview by @NatsGirl19
Storylines
- The one hour rain delay followed by a four-and-a-half hour game last night exhausted the Nationals' bullpen, as well as the Braves'.
- After the exciting win at the ungodly hour of 12:30 am, the Nationals' lead in the NL East has been extended to six games over the Braves.
Pitching Matchup
- Stephen Strasburg
- 2.91 ERA and a 14-5 record.
- In his last start vs. San Francisco, Strasburg pitched six innings of impressive ball with seven strikeouts and 100 pitches.
- Paul Maholm
- 3.39 ERA and a 11-7 record.
- Pitched for seven solid innings in his last game vs. San Diego, holding the Padres to one run and five hits.
Who to Watch
- Ian Desmond (Again).
- Desmond (more affectionately known as Desi) notched his first home run off the DL last night, putting the hurt on the Braves quickly and proving that he really is back.
- Desi's offense is not the only notable part of his game - keep a close eye on his defense in the next few games as he makes his way back to the old Desi we once knew.
